Injury prevention in dancers
I have become a leading expert in adolescent dancers’ physical preparation. Without the PhD I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do the job that I am currently doing. More information can be found here.
I currently lead the physical preparedness at a vocational ballet school in Birmingham.
I was the first strength and conditioning coach to get a full-time permanent contract at a vocational institution in the UK in 2018. I was also voted the educator of the year from the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science in 2019.
Research can be a very exciting and fulfilling journey. Starting the PhD is probably one of the best decisions in my life so far. My advice is, if you feel the urge to answer questions, find a strong and supportive supervisory team and go for it. One might not always know the destination but walking the path is exhilarating!
