Computer-Mediated Communication increased for many of us during lockdown. Humour (verbal and non-verbal) is an important part of human social interaction and can be viewed as an essential tool in the pursuit of happiness and for fostering social cohesion. This talk will explore the ways in which humour plays an important role in making light of difficult circumstances and discuss the creative ways in which technology has enabled us to keep our sense of humour and keep in touch.

This talk is delivered by Josiane Boutonnet, Senior Lecturer in English Language from the University of Wolverhampton.
