Entry requirements for students from China
高中毕业证书 - Certificate of Senior Secondary School
Students with an average of 85% in the Certificate of Senior Secondary School would be eligible for the International Foundation Year.
IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components is also required.
高考 – National University Entrance Examination (Gaokao)
Students with high scores in the Gaokao will be considered for entrance to Bachelor degrees.
专科/大专 or 高职 – Sub-degree or Gaozhi
Students with a minimum pass mark of 60% in the any of the above awards can be considered for admission to the final year of a Bachelor programme.
Students who have completed 2.5 years with a minimum pass mark of 60 would be eligible for admission with advanced standing (Examinations are marked on either a percentage scale with a minimum pass mark of 60, or on a pass-or-fail basis (A, B, C, P and F).
学士学位 – Bachelor degree
Students who have completed a 4 year Bachelor degreefrom a NARIC or government recognised institution and can provide both a 学士学位证书 (bachelor degree certificate) and 毕业证书 (graduation certificate) are eligible for entrance onto Master’s degrees:
A score of 75% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1
A score of 65% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2
A score of less than 65% is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course
English language requirements vary by course and department but the standard University requirement is 6.0 with 5.5 in every component in IELTS or the same scores in the University's own entry test, the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE).
Some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University standard requirements. For details of each programme's English language requirement please see the individual course pages.
