Graduate co-authors landmark parliamentary report on sustainable growth for female-led businesses

Teresa Boughey, an alumna of the University of Wolverhampton who graduated with a Masters in Human Resource Management, has co-authored a significant parliamentary report, "Strategies for Scaling Up," recently launched in Westminster. The report outlines bold and practical strategies aimed at fostering the sustainable growth of female-led businesses across the UK.

Teresa, the Founder and CEO of Jungle HR, is an award-winning Board Advisor, Non-Executive Director, and UK Ambassador for UN Women. A renowned expert in business transformation with a strong focus on inclusivity and sustainability, she also chairs the ESG ‘Success Through Sustainability’ Workstream for the Women and Enterprise All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG).

The "Strategies for Scaling Up" report is the result of extensive research and collaboration between APPG Business Board members and university partners. It offers clear, actionable recommendations targeted at government, industry, and investors to provide crucial support for the growth and expansion of enterprises led by women.

The Westminster launch event received significant attention, with attendance from Members of Parliament, business owners, investors, and industry leaders. Leigh Ingham MP of Staffordshire, the new Co-Chair of the APPG, opened the event, commending the report's ambitious goals to address the gender gap in entrepreneurship.

Reflecting on the impactful report, Teresa Boughey stated, "I’m incredibly proud of the work delivered by our ESG Workstream. The recommendations we’ve made are both practical and transformative. Achieving sustainability goals is a shared responsibility — not just for government or industry, but for all of us. Entrepreneurs are already driving innovation in sustainability, and every business forms part of someone else’s supply chain. That’s why this must be a collective ambition. Investors too must look beyond financial returns and consider the wider impact businesses have on our planet. It’s about creating change that’s sustainable — and lasting."

Teresa's significant contribution to this landmark report aligns with her ongoing mission to cultivate a more inclusive, sustainable, and high-performing business environment. Through her leadership at Jungle HR, she continues to influence national policy, inspire purposeful leadership, and champion transformative change within boardrooms and beyond.
