University Mental Health Day Events

To celebrate Mental Health Day on 1 March 2018, the University and Students' Union have teamed up to bring three days of events across our campuses. 

Walsall Campus - Tuesday 27 February 2018

From 12 – 4pm there will be various activities taking place on Campus Boulevard, in the Performance Hub Foyer and in the Go Lounge, including a visit from the Animal Man and various external organisations.  ‘Get onboard’ the vintage bus or take part in mindful colouring, henna or sensory experience.   There will be a music workshop on ‘Songs of Meaning’ from 12 – 1pm. 

From 2 – 3pm take part in a workshop to develop your own wellbeing plan.  The Sports Centre will be offering free passes to pilates classes from 1 – 2 PM, and hoola hooping and cycle-a-thon!  In the afternoon, visit the Students' Union to take part in a crafternoon, to raise money for Mind - a mental health charity.  Staff from the Counselling team will be offering a relaxation session from 6:30 – 7:30pm and there will be a quiz at 8pm. 

Telford Campus - Wednesday 28 February 2018

From 3:30 – 5:30pm come to the Hutchison Building SA foyer and meet with staff from the University’s Mental Health and Wellbeing team to develop your very own wellbeing plan, or just to have a chat. 

At 6:30pm the Well@Wolves co-ordinator Heather Lomax will be taking you on a torch light walk and at 7:30pm there will be snacks and pizza whilst you watch a film in Priorslee Lounge.

City Campus - Thursday 1 March 2018

From 11am - 3pm there will be activities taking place across campus, with the majority of activities taking place in the Students' Union.  In the Venue you’ll find various external organisations, sessions of laughter yoga at 12pm and 1pm, alongside a drumming workshop.  There will also be wellbeing activities taking place in reflexology, mindful colouring, sensory experience, and henna.  You can develop your own wellbeing plan at our workshop from 1 – 2pm in the Boardroom, or get involved in sporting activities with free passes to Boot Camp and Abs Blast.  Take the opportunity to relax and sign up to attend a relaxation session with counselling, in ML Building from 2- 3pm.
