Celebration of Eid ul Fitr

The Chaplaincy successfully hosted an Eid-ul-Fitr celebration on Thursday 3 April at the Go Lounge on the Walsall Campus.
Over 200 students and staff participated, sharing in the joy of Eid, which translates to 'feast' or 'festival'.
The event featured a communal meal and provided a platform for understanding the traditions of Eid – including special prayers, new attire, and the exchange of the greeting "Eid Mubarak" which translates to "Blessed Eid" or “Blessed feast”, similar to wishing someone "Ramadan Mubarak".
Imam Asad, the Muslim Chaplain, highlighted the importance of these celebrations in fostering a sense of belonging for students away from home and in promoting interfaith understanding and awareness of the Chaplaincy's diverse support services.
The event was very much appreciated by all students and staff, as they enjoyed a delicious meal together and learnt about the festive period and the services offered by Chaplaincy.
