Art graduate secures place at prestigious design exhibition

Naomi Jacques has been selected by New designers to exhibit in the ‘One Year On’ section of their annual event held in Islington London. She will be exhibiting there in Part 1, from 28 June - 1 July 2017.

The event (as explained on their website) "is a destination feature within New Designers that presents young, entrepreneurial designers who are in their first year of business. It runs across both parts of the show and covers all disciplines. Those that exhibit go through a selection process, and are chosen on the strength of their work, flair and quality of product.’’

Naomi is a 2016 Applied Arts graduate and resides in Staffordshire where she has her own studio and kiln to work on her pieces.

She is known for her eloquently crafted glass sculptures. On her website, the process of crafting these beautiful pieces is explained in more detail: ‘’Naomi’s recent kiln formed glass works are created with several grades of glass frit. Naomi calls this process Glass Frit Fusion.’’

As well as being selected for ND One Year On, Naomi was recently commended by the Contemporary Glass Society in the Graduate Review 2016 and is a Licentiate Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. She has been invited to exhibit her work at the next Designer Crafts Exhibition held by the Society of Designer Craftsmen in London 2017 - dates and venue yet to be confirmed.
