About the bursary
We are committed to supporting the next generation of nurses into the profession and understand the barriers that many of our applicants face. There is currently a particular gap in Adult Nursing, which we are keen to address, with this in mind, we are trialling an applicant bursary for Adult Nursing applicants scheduled to start an undergraduate Adult Nursing course with us in September 2024, in which we will provide a £100 cash bursary for all new starters on an undergraduate Adult Nursing course following completion of semester 1 study.

Please find the terms and conditions below as to students eligible to enter the bursary scheme
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2.1 Entry is open to home (UK domiciled residents and settled with no immigration restrictions on the length of stay) applicants applying for September 2024 entry for an Adult Nursing full time undergraduate course within the school of Nursing, specifically:
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing at City Campus
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing at Telford Campus
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing at Walsall Campus
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing with Foundation Year at City Campus
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing with Foundation Year at Telford Campus
- BNurs (Hons) Adult Nursing with Foundation Year at Walsall Campus
2.2 You must have a live application with the University of Wolverhampton for one of the above courses which means your application status must be one of: No Decision, Conditional Offer or Unconditional Offer which may or may not have been accepted by you as a choice and you must not have been rejected or declined your offer for this intake.
3.1 Once we have recorded that you have submitted an application via UCAS, we will contact you for further information and details.
3.2 You must provide all information requested, fully complete enrolment and semester 1 of study to receive the £100 cash bursary.
3.3 Applications must be for one of the courses listed above for September 2024 entry and you must be a home, UK domiciled applicant.
4.1 The £100 cash bursary can be claimed through the WLV wallet portal after completion of semester 1 study and all the details of how to access the funds will be clearly communicated with applicants. The applicant should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from any payment.
4.2 Once awarded, you will receive an email from the WLV Wallet Team containing instructions on how to access these funds including how to transfer as much or as little as you want into the bank account of your choice.

If you have any queries about the physical payment or how to access it, please contact the WLV-Wallet team at student.info@wlv-wallet.co.uk as we do not have access to this.
5.1 Subject to any restrictions in law, the liability of the University of Wolverhampton however arising, whether by breach of any condition or warranty implied by statute or of this agreement or of any duty of tort (including negligence) is limited to the total value of the bursary. This does not include or limit in any way University of Wolverhampton’s liability:
5.1.1 For death or personal injury caused by University of Wolverhampton’s negligence;
5.1.2 Under section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987;
5.1.3 For fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
5.1.4 For any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude, University of Wolverhampton’s liability.
5.2 The University of Wolverhampton and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for payment being damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
5.3 The University of Wolverhampton and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim suffered or brought by an applicant:
- a) Through applying to the University of Wolverhampton or through use of bursary payment; or
- b) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail; or
- c) due to the publication of any material, including any statements made by any staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person.
5.4 The University of Wolverhampton and its affiliates assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
5.5 If, for any reason, your application is not capable of being processed as planned, including, but not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the University of Wolverhampton which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of your application, the University of Wolverhampton reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend your application, subject to policies, regulations and legislation.
5.6 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the University of Wolverhampton’s ability to proceed with your application on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the University of Wolverhampton may in its absolute discretion cancel your application and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

6.2 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
6.3 University of Wolverhampton is not responsible for indirect losses which happen as a side-effect of the main loss or damage including but not limited to:
- Loss of income or revenue;
- Loss of business;
- Loss of profits or contracts;
- Loss of anticipated savings; or
- Loss of data.
6.4 Unless it expressly states otherwise, these terms and conditions do not give rise to any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of the Contract.
6.5 A waiver of any right or remedy under these terms and conditions or by law is only effective if given in writing and shall not be deemed a waiver of any subsequent right or remedy. A failure or delay by a party to exercise any right or remedy provided under these terms and conditions or by law shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy, nor shall it prevent or restrict any further exercise of that or any other right or remedy. No single or partial exercise of any right or remedy provided under these terms and conditions or by law shall prevent or restrict the further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.
6.6 Data Protection: Any personal data provided to the University of Wolverhampton in connection with this scheme will be held and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may also use that data for administration of and communication with this scheme. By submitting your personal information in connection with this scheme you consent to the processing of your personal data as set out above and you confirm that the information is accurate and complete.
- University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to change the bursary offered without prior notice. University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to terminate this offer without prior notice.
Travel cost support

Attendance at an interview will be recorded by University of Wolverhampton staff and you must register at a registration point where you will provide evidence of your receipts/ address. This information will be used to register student attendance and eligibility to claim.
Amazon vouchers will be issued to the value of £20 only and will be the same for all applicants who have attended an interview
Travel must have been undertaken either the calendar day before or after the interview (for petrol claims, please see more information below) or the exact date of the interview. Only the student’s travel is redeemable under the conditions of this offer.

University of Wolverhampton’s liability for losses you suffer as a result of us breaking this agreement is strictly limited to the value of this agreement.
This does not include or limit in any way University of Wolverhampton’s liability:

- Travel vouchers will require proof of address on registration and attendance at interview
- University of Wolverhampton reserves the right to change the vouchers offered without prior notice.
