Award Categories

This award is given to an individual whose commitment to growth and learning has propelled them forward in the world of apprenticeships. They’ve seized opportunities, developed their leadership acumen, fostered creativity and driven positive change within their teams.

We welcome nominations for those who have stepped outside their comfort zones to embrace challenges and pushed boundaries to create impactful solutions in their workplace.

This award recognises the outstanding contributions of those apprentices whose pursuit of knowledge and thirst for learning is relentless and their achievements set a high bar for us all.

This award is given to a WLV Apprenticeships partner employer who provides high-quality apprenticeship programs, demonstrates strong leadership buy-in, and provides a positive experience for their apprentices.

We welcome nominations from both small and large organisations, those with years of experience and those that are new to apprenticeships.

Organisations are able to nominate themselves or ask their apprentices/staff to nominate on their behalf. Judges will be looking for examples of excellent practice and a genuine commitment to the support and development of apprentices.

This award is given to an individual or an employer who has shown an unwavering commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

The focus for apprenticeship events across 2024-25 has been that of inclusion and diversity and we are passionate about recognising the achievements of those organisations and individuals who support this wholeheartedly, and where actions speak lounder than words.

We are keen to receive nominations from those who champion diversity and go beyond their daily duties to support apprentices; nurturing the next generation of learners. The positive impact of genuine inclusion in the workplace reaches far beyond the walls in which it operates; it touches lives and transforms attitudes making our community richer.

The community impact award recognises an apprentice who has gone above and beyond to use their knowledge and skills to support the local communities they serve.

Nominees may have shown a commitment to supporting social mobility, improving the health of the region, enhancing access and participation to resources and opportunities, or simply been a wonderful human being within their local community.

We welcome the stories and examples of those individuals who often put their own needs second to those of the people around them, in order to truly make a difference in their sphere of work.

The ambassadorial apprentice award is given to an individual who acts as a change agent and leaders in their community/workplace. We welcome nominations for those apprentices who have inspired others to take action and become ready, responsive, and resilient.

We also wish to hear about those apprentices who have created innovative ways to engage their community, their workforce, and/or their social network. Often, those in an ambassadorial role are key to driving forward wider change, and we want to hear their stories.

The resilience award recognises apprentices who have faced adversity during their apprenticeship journey yet have remained resilient throughout. We welcome nominations for individuals who are committed to their study and have shown exceptional determination to complete their apprenticeship.

Nominees may have faced extremely challenging circumstances during their apprenticeship such as ill health, handling personal issues and juggling family commitments, but have managed to both succeed themselves and champion others to succeed along the way.

We would like to hear from those who have shown exceptional resilience either as a current student or as an alumni.

This award recognises staff at the University of Wolverhampton who have gone above and beyond to support, improve and promote the apprenticeship journey. We welcome nominations from apprentices past and present, employers and fellow staff who recognise the commitment shown by all those involved in the delivery of apprenticeships.
