About Sabrina

Sabrina Ffrench is a registered nurse and an award-winning volunteer who has dedicated herself to the welfare of her fellow nurses, patients, and vulnerable people.

Inspired by her grandma who worked in healthcare and who her family looked up to, Sabrina discovered her love for charity volunteering while studying to become a nurse at the University of Wolverhampton. Responding to a notice that she found at the university, which was requesting volunteers, Sabrina discovered her calling and now works as a professional nurse advocate and patient ambassador in her job at Sandwell and Birmingham Trust. She also gives her spare time to worthy charities such as the Destination Florida Children’s Charity and the food distribution charity FareShare Midlands.

She has received award nominations and wins for her commitment to philanthropy, including becoming an NHS Hero in 2019, Young Alumni of the Year at Wolverhampton in 2024, and being a finalist in the BAME Awards. Stating that it feels “really good” to be nominated and to sometimes win, Sabrina says that her next goal is to start her own charity.

The University of Wolverhampton was definitely pivotal, the fact I am able to be a Nurse, the fact that the University chose me to study Adult Nursing when I didn't have a Heath and Social Care background and gave me that opportunity and I can never repay them, because its literally the best job and feeling in the world.
