About Kristian

From bronze-medal-winning Olympian to Premier League senior player care and engagement manager, Kristian Thomas says that without help from the University of Wolverhampton, he wouldn't have landed his amazing professional role. It was his Bachelor of Science in Strength and Conditioning at the university that made him aware of the existence of the position he now holds, and he is grateful to the world-class lecturers and facilities that enabled him to graduate with first-class honours.

Kristian discovered his love for sports and gymnastics at a young age, which led him to become a GB gymnast who won a historic bronze medal at London 2012, then four years later he competed at Rio 2016 too. He is also a Commonwealth Games champion and medallist, a World Championship medallist, and a European champion and medallist.

Having found success in professional areas such as athlete training, motivational speaking, and commentating, Kristian now works for the Premier League providing support to the staff who in turn support the players from across the league’s 20 football clubs. He praises the University of Wolverhampton for the tailored one-to-one support he received from lecturers with both industry expertise and subject knowledge, the facilities such as the strength and conditioning suite, and the assistance he received as a mature learner. He says: “Without the University of Wolverhampton enabling me to learn and develop, I wouldn’t be in the role I’m in now, at the Premier League.”
