Engaging courses created by experienced lecturers who help Inspire students; providing real world examples enabling students to widen their horizons and challenge themselves to want to achieve more.

Most of my favourite memories include the lecturers who were great and very supportive. The work placement I carried out was a great insight into the working world helping me prepare for a job post graduation provided vital on the job skills and a solid key 12 month foundation of experience. During those formative years I met many students and have managed to still keep in touch with a few friends from that time.
I feel the best part of the course was the balance struck between elements of group, individual, theory and practical work. The skills learnt at the time helped cement a lot of the basic elements of work in the real world (though probably not something I may have fully grasped at the time). This rings especially true in modules where business plans and project work featured a lot - meaning that the overall grade was rewarded upon the merit of the team's work. Ensuring everyone played their part, delivered their best, and gave input, as well as being punctual etc are all key ingredients to projects in the workplace.
My current role has a few sides to it. On the one hand I lead a large global team delivering and supporting key trading settlement applications across the bank internationally. On the other hand I am locally responsible for an equally large number of employees leading, mentoring and ensuring that they are all performing well within each of their functional domains. Other responsibilities include delivery for largescale programs and projects, hands-on involvement in incidents, outages as well as collaborating with partners in the business, development and other infrastructure and technology teams to ensure stability of the platform(s) used by the Investment Bank for Trading etc.
All of life's great journeys have a start. We can't always put our finger on the exact moment; the idea that planted a seed in your mind that led to something else; the chance meeting in a hallway with another student that led to an exchange of ideas; the coursework that prepared you for work and enabled you to provide a point of reference for further work in the field. It's all about taking that first step.
