My time at the University was challenging, stressful but fun! There were many ups and downs; the pandemic brought along more challenges than I was expecting, but motivation and determination will help you get the grades you want to achieve.

Throughout my 3 years at the University of Wolverhampton I enjoyed learning aspects of both marketing and events, I enjoyed taking duel courses to give me flexibility in my career. The support from the lecturers was great, it became challenging due to COVID-19 to get the full support I needed, but if I arranged Teams meetings with lecturers it allowed me to get my questions answered. The memories I made throughout my university period were made with the friends from my course, and supporting one and other throughout became even more crucial during the pandemic! We all supported each other with questions or difficulties we had, and in the end we all graduated with first class degrees; these friends I am sure I will be friends with for a long time!
My course allowed me to get into my marketing career through the knowledge and theory based information I learnt, and being able to apply the theories to everyday situations. Working with real life case studies allowed me to begin a portfolio of work I have completed, meeting briefs set. Having my course displayed on my LinkedIn page led to me being offered a marketing placement, which then led me to my current post graduate full time Marketing Assistant role.
In my current Marketing Assistant role, my duties include: - Monitoring social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok) - Metric Management - Email Marketing - Creating content ideas - Website Management - Lead Management - Blog Writing - PR My job role includes looking at all aspects of marketing, which is a great way to learn!
My career began when I started my placement at Neutronic Technologies back in January 2021; since then I was offered a full time role with Neutronic Technologies as a result of my work throughout the placement. This was a big success for me, especially in due to the employment situation caused COVID. I was proud of myself for finishing my marketing degree and going straight into the industry with a full time job.
To any students considering to study at Wolverhampton, I would recommend the University, but you have to put the work in to get the results. It becomes your responsibility to ask for support, organise meeting with lecturers and put the research time in to get the grades you want. I would always suggest starting assignments as early as you can, especially when you have your dissertation to do! Organisation is key throughout a degree!
