Kate’s previous employment includes extensive HR, management and leadership roles across both the private and public sector. For example, managing a training organisation, career counselling, HR professional and training manager. In addition she has run her own business as an HR Consultant for local SMEs.

Having worked for UWBS as a Senior Lecturer since 2000, Kate has over 10 years' experience in managing PG academic programmes, quality enhancement, developing new PG initiatives including validation, recruiting students and fulfilling vital school roles such as Student Liaison Officer and Equality & Diversity Coordinator. She has also been active in university research projects such as Equality in the Curriculum and Student Support Activities as well as acting as an External Examiner for APU. In addition Kate has organised training programmes for local and international businesses on behalf of the Business School.

Her research and scholarship interests are international HR, equality and diversity and organisational behaviour. In addition she has contributed to research and scholarly activities through 2 university wide projects looking at equality and diversity in the curriculum. She has completed 2 years of a Doctorate at Birkbeck College (UCL) in Occupational Psychology and  is enthusiastic about research and scholarship.
