I am currently responsible for the TNE and UK partnerships and quality of those partnerships within FEHW. This involves working with International partners to support and develop their staff to ensure B3 metrics are met, providing our partner students with an outstanding student experience. I work across faculty, supporting staff in their link tutor role, along with enhancing the learning and teaching experiences of those partner students. To achieve this, we have created a partnership quality framework to support both staff and partners from their inital expression of interest through to delivery of our programmes.
As former Head of Health Studies, I line managed staff and undertook continous monitoring processes to ensure all published benchmarks were met and often exceeded. I lead on the development of new programmes and revision of old along with improving NSS results during my tenure. I built a strong team who were able to meet the demands of the current climate through coaching, mentoring, motivating and modeling behaviours which embeded the university values.
My research interests lie in social justice, critical pedagogy and the role universities play in increasing social mobility through Widening Participation
My current research is examining Black Students experiences of learning, teaching and assessment through a Critical Race Theory lens analysed through IPA methodology. This work is focused on reducing the Awarding Gap.
