Global Graduate Returns to Serve

Community spirit thrives at the University of Wolverhampton as international alumna Rezwana Ahmed touched down in the Midlands, this time to volunteer during summer graduations for the Class of 2025.

Originally from Bangladesh, Rezwana travelled at her own expense in early July to support graduation ceremonies on campus, staying in the Midlands through the university’s celebratory week. Throughout the week, she was an ever-present in the City Campus courtyard, overseeing photos under the graduation alumni arch, and supporting graduates and their guests.

Rezwana studied BA (hons) Fine Art at the university and graduated in 2009 and has since served as an alumni volunteer as a proud member of the Alumni Advisory Board. She last returned to campus in November for the annual Alumni Awards in November 1024 and continues to pay regular visits to speak with current international students.

“Wolverhampton changed the direction of my life,” she shared. “It’s an incredible privilege to come back and help ensure our newest graduates feel celebrated.”

During graduation week, the Alumni & Development Team also welcomed Kevin Wong, its new Data Entry Assistant. Kevin, from Hong Kong, previously served in the University’s Apprenticeships Team and joins us with deep experience in student and alumni systems.

Rezwana’s commitment underlines a key message: our global alumni are our greatest ambassadors, giving time, expertise and goodwill to build legacies for future Wolverhampton students.
