Almost a year on from the Harrison Library refresh, it’s been fantastic to see so many of you enjoying the updated spaces and new furniture. Over the past academic year, your feedback has helped shape how we continue to improve the library—and this summer, we’ve made even more changes based on what you’ve told us.

One of the most popular additions has been the high-back study booths on the ground floor. Many of you said you’d like more of these in quieter areas, so we’ve listened.

We’ve now added similar booths to underused areas on the second floor, quiet study zone. Each new booth includes power points with USB charging to support your study needs.

The popular silent study rooms on the third floor have finally been upgraded with more modern, spacious desks. The new desks now include on-desk power modules, in line with the study spaces across the rest of the floor.

We also reviewed how various areas of the third floor were utilised over the past year. It became apparent that some spaces located near the main library walkways were underused, likely due to their exposed positioning and the frequent distractions in those areas. To address this, we have installed new screening in selected parts of the silent study zone and PC lab. These updates are intended to enhance privacy and minimise visual distractions, hopefully helping you remain focused and comfortable

We’re always looking for ways to make the library work better for you—so please keep sharing your thoughts!
