We are excited to be celebrating Black History Month, like last year we have displays in our libraries showcasing a selection of our learning and fiction resources. You are welcome to borrow any of the books on display or browse and reserve books via our online collection

This year’s theme is Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” a powerful tribute to the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe.

Our displays include posters paying tribute to visionary black figures who have led political, civil rights, and social movements.

The libraries also have copies of the Black History Month magazine 2025 featuring exclusive interviews with leaders who have influenced and inspired, it also includes contributions from our Pro-Chancellor of Health Patrick Vernon OBE

The University has 'a rich and varied programme of events, thoughtfully curated to inspire reflection, spark meaningful conversations, and strengthen our sense of community, both on campus and online via Teams' Check out the intranet for full details

The library is also participating with zine workshops at Walsall Library (16th Oct 1-3) and Harrison Library (28th Oct 12-2) come along, relax, chat and make your own zine.
