Uni Mental Heath Day 13 March - making student mental health a priority

#UniMentalHealthDay is an annual day to get the nation talking about student mental health and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority. 

Today, Thursday 13 March, we are celebrating University Mental Health Day and sharing information and support for student mental health and wellbeing.  Drop by the Mental Health Fairs at City, Walsall and Telford campuses to meet a range of local and national wellbeing and support providers and join in a range of activities including games, crafts and workshops across the University and Students' Union and online.

Mental Health Fairs: 

  • City Campus: The Den, Students' Union, 10am-2pm 

  • Walsall Campus: Go Lounge, 10am-2pm

  • Telford Campus: Sports Centre, 1am-1pm 

Come and join staff from Student Life and take a break, play some games and join in with some activities and get away from the stresses of university life for a moment. 

City Campus: Student Life Centre, Ambika Paul Building, next to Harrison Library 

  • Frame of Mind - drop in and create and take away a frame with your picture 
  • games - various games and activities to participate in - a quieter space 
  • The Cubbie - find out more about the immersive, multi-sensory space here

Games will also take place 10am-2pm at Walsall Campus 

Recover Near You screening

Recovery Near You are bringing a mobile liver screening tool, offering free testing for students and staff.

  • Please book in advance to ensure the right amount of supplies can be provided.  

Come to a free Students' Union Planting and Painting workshop where you'll have the chance to personalise your own plant pot with your unique designs and take home a free plant.

 

Birmingham Mind at Walsall Campus

Birmingham Mind will be offering a bite sized introduction to the support service, in partnership with Walsall Council, Birmingham.   

Walsall Campus: Room WA112C:  11am - 11.30am   &   1.30pm -2pm up to 10 spaces for each session. 

Mind is delivering a series of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention training courses for people living or working in Walsall.

Come along for books, craft, chat and snacks. Decorate your own wooden bookmark, tell us what you're reading at the moment and what's in your to be read pile. Biscuits and materials provided.
