Kristian Thomas

Former British Olympic artistic gymnast & sports ambassador

Hailing from Wolverhampton, Kristian is is a former British Olympic artistic gymnast, currently working as a Senior Player Care & Engagement Manager at the Premier League and as the Vice-Chair for the Team GB Athlete Commission.

At the Commonwealth Games in Australian in 2006, he won bronze with Team England and later rose to prominence in British gymnastics when he won the British all-around title in 2008.

He then competed at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in London in 2009, he represented Great Britain at the 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam and went to the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo.

At the 2012 summer Olympics, he had the honour of representing Great Britain on home soil and was part of the bronze medal-winning men's team.

His medal list is staggering, and in addition to his Olympic bronze medal from 2012, the collection gathered from around the world includes a silver and bronze medal at the World Championships, two golds, four silvers and one bronze at the European Championships, and from the Commonwealth Games, one gold, two silvers and one bronze.

This Olympian is a truly inspirational ambassador for his sport and Great Britain, one of Wolverhampton’s favourite sons, plus a proud alumnus and generous supporter of this University.
