I  have a strong record of strategic academic leadership and management of teaching, research and enterprise excellence in health and healthcare higher education. In particular I have experitse in academic and practice quality, and I am the chair of the faculty fitness to practise panel in the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing. In recent years I have been instrumental in promoting change within the faculty contributing to enhanced quality of the student experience. 

One of my key qualities is my ability to engage with and build highly effective relationships with key stakeholders, working in collaboration to support healthcare workforce planning for the future. 

My reputation in health is growing with a scholarly profile in problem/enquiry based learning and fitness to practise.

I have worked in higher education since 1998 in a variety of academic roles and have experience of working at several different universities. 

Prior to working in higher education I worked as an adult nurse in a variety of hospitals across the West Midlands and Staffordshire. My main areas of nursing experience were in surgical nursing.
