Researcher development workshops for Semester 1

Do you want to know about gold open access publishing, or maybe you’re interested in how to structure a data management plan?
Are you looking for information on how to handle third party copyright in your thesis?
Do you want to know how to craft a better search, or find datasets?
Do you need help understanding pre-registration, FAIR principles or how to document data?
The library runs a year round programme of researcher development workshops geared towards postgraduate researchers, but available to researchers at all levels who may be looking to expand or refresh their knowledge in areas like open research or use of bibliographic databases, research data management and writing skills.
The programme is reviewed and refreshed on an annual basis and we have introduced new workshops this year, alongside revisions of earlier workshops. Most workshops run between 60 and 90 minutes and are delivered online in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.
We are increasing the frequency of some workshops in this academic year, so hopefully you should be able to find a session to attend, but if you can't make a session, you can also contact the library to schedule a one to one on most topics.
The programme is available to view and book onto at https://www.wlv.ac.uk/lib/research/research-workshops/.
We have full listings for Semester 1 and the workshops for Semester 2 will be confirmed in the next couple of months.
Alongside this we have a Canvas course on open research and management of data topics. There are currently five modules and students can work through the modules at their own pace. This is available to all researchers, who can self enrol here.
We look forward to seeing you there!
