Health and Safety

Ensuring a safe work environment for everyone

Sitting within the Corporate Compliance Directorate, The Health and Safety department covers the provision of advice, guidance and information to members of staff on a range of safety-related issues, which include:

  • promoting improvements in safe working methods
  • assessing the suitability of new equipment and work practices from a safety perspective
  • providing information resulting from changes in relevant legislation
  • providing advice on risk assessments
  • coordinating health and safety training
  • liaising with health and safety professionals
  • investigating accident reports.

The Health and Safety team work to promote a culture of safety awareness to ensure that the University is a safe and healthy place to work and study.
