This year the Chaplaincy has developed an Easter partnership with the University's neighbour, St. Peter's Collegiate Church.

Beginning on Sunday 17 March, known as 'Passion Sunday' by many Christians, Lead Chaplain Rev'd Dr Sarah Schofield will be guiding Church and University communities through two weeks of activities and acts of worship for Holy Week and Easter.

In the first week 'Preparing for Holy Week, A Poetry Workshop' with Creative and Professional Writing Lecturer, Rob Francis, takes place in St. Peter's at 2.30 pm on Wednesday 20 March

Staff and students on campus during Holy Week (24 to 31 March) might like to take advantage of these additional Christian events offered by the Chaplaincy in conjunction with St. Peter's.

Weekday Global Communion at St Peter's, three simple lunchtime services on Monday 25, Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 March at 12.30 pm.

Each service will take a different theme and involve students and alumni connected with the Chaplaincy:

  • Sunday Service, Passion Sunday, Palm Sunday 24 March and Easter Day 31 March begin at 11.15 am
  • Monday 25 March, the focus will be on the Church in South India
  • Wednesday 27 March, the focus will be Nigeria with the service led by Reverend Chiijoke Ikenna, a Nigerian Anglican Priest and University of Wolverhampton graduate
  • Thursday 28 March at 7.30 pm Maundy Thursday 'Stripping of the Altars'
  • Friday 29 March Good Friday services at 10 am and from 12 noon until 3 pm
  • Easter Sunday 30 March at 11.15 am

Everyone is welcome, whether you wish to take part in the worship or simply observe these ancient Christian traditions.
