Capture Technologies

Panopto is the Universities capture technology provider. Panopto can record audio with multiple video feeds, presentation slides and/or a computer screen. The videos are then stored on the WLV Panopto website so that they can be viewed online from anywhere on any device. Traditionally, capture technologies are used to make recordings of lectures so that they can be used for revision and review; however they can also be used to support a range of teaching and learning approaches such as flipped classroom, skills demonstrations, introductory and informational videos, distance learning, video feedback and much more. Panopto can also be used to facilitate student-generated content and the submission of video assessments.

80% of centrally-managed teaching rooms across the university are now capture-enabled with Panopto, which can be used to record or live stream sessions. Panopto is available to use on University-managed PCs and on personally owned computers and devices so it can be used wherever you are, whenever you need it. Panopto is also integrated with the Canvas VLE which makes recording and sharing video content incredibly simple.
