RefurBIM Workshop

Have you been involved in building refurbishment projects that have used BIM?  Did this throw up any issues or problems?  This workshop seeks to develop conceptual BIM models to address these issues, and we welcome companies working within building refurbishment to contribute to this developing area.
 
This workshop encourages the active participaction of architects, clients, consultants (cost, structural, services etc) and contractors involved in building alterations and refurbishments. The focus will be on non-domestic projects, but anyone involved in refurbishment sprojects is welcome to attend.

Plugging the Skills Gap

Come along to this free breakfast briefing to find out more about practical and affordable routes to upskilling and investing in your workforce. With new opportunities and funding available to plug existing gaps, this event could help you to solve your skills and knowledge challenges.
 
Martin Dudley, from family owned and managed Thomas Dudley Ltd, will speak about how ongoing training and development has been placed at the heart of his business ensuring competitiveness and the ability to move quickly.
Colin Parker from the Skills Factory will provide an overview of fully funded bite-size courses on offer to Black Country employers through the European Social Fund, ranging from Laser cutting to AutoCAD, through to manufacturing quality control.
 
Ian Fitzpatrick will talk about new opportunities available to business from the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills, a new employer-led training facility for the Black Country, designed to enhance productivity in the region’s high value manufacturing sector, offering apprenticeships and bite-sized training.
 
There will be the opportunity to ask questions and one-to-ones will be available with the speakers after the main event.

Free Breakfast Briefing for Local House Builders

In partnership with Wolverhampton Homes, Wolverhampton City Council is planning to address the housing crisis with a new initiative to design and develop homes across the city on large and small sites to meet the needs of the community.
 
The Council wishes to use local building materials and local house builders to ensure they maximise on the employment opportunities, and to ensure the money spent, where possible, stays in the local economy.
 
If you are a local house builder this event will inform you about the opportunities to build homes, particularly on small sites.

Get On Track: Rail Tender Supplier Readiness Programme

West Midlands Manufacturing Club (WMMC) are looking for 10 SMEs who currently supply, or have the potential to supply the rail sector, to take part in their FREE, three-day pilot rail tender supplier readiness programme, ‘Get On Track’. 

Expected to cost up to £3000 when it officially launches in November this year, this hands-on, practical programme will help your business capitalise on the bid & tender opportunities arising from HS2 and other public procurement. 

It will be delivered by rail tender experts, Thornton & Lowe, whose rail supply chain clients enjoy a success rate in the sector in excess of 75% and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
