The University of Wolverhampton recently gave students the opportunity to find out how they could travel the world whilst getting paid for it.

The Institute of Travel & Tourism’s ‘Future you: on the Road’ exhibition was held in both the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton and the University’s Harrison Learning Centre.

With the University having the opportunity to host the regional event due to it being one of the UK’s Centre of Excellence in tourism education as accredited by the ITT.

The day was split into two sections, with the itinerary including both a conference lead by industry speakers and a chance to speak directly to professionals at the afternoon exhibitor’s event.

The aim of the day was to give students the chance to speak to leading professionals within the travel trade industry, and hear their stories whilst finding out about what opportunities were available to them.

The exhibition was also open to students from FE colleges in the Midlands.

In attendance were organisations including:Perfect Weddings Abroad, Mercure Brandon Hotels, Travel Visa Company, FHA (Family Holiday Association) and G Adventures.

Peter Robinson, Principal Lecturer and Head of Department for Marketing, Innovation, Leisure and Enterprise said: “We are delighted, as an ITT Centre of Excellence, to host an annual ITT Future You ‘On The Road’ Conference.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to engage with local schools and colleges and to provide further opportunities for our own students to meet with industry colleagues and to explore the many career opportunities available to them within the tourism industry.”
