Antiques Roadshow star to host auction

Ceramics and glass expert Will Farmer will host the Applied Arts Auction, which has been organised by School of Art & Design students, on Tuesday, 5 March 2013.

The Applied Arts Auction at the Wolverhampton City Campus will feature glass, jewellery and ceramics designed by staff and students.

All proceeds from the auction will be used to take a group of current BA and MA students called the Twenty Five Makers to the prestigious ‘New Designers’ exhibition and a London show in 2013.

Gwen Heeney, from the University’s School of Art & Design, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Will Farmer to the University for this special auction. The Twenty Five Makers group is committed to carrying on their careers after graduation, and showcasing their work in London will help to promote the group and carry on the legacy of artisans graduating from the University’s Applied Arts department.”

Viewing for the event at the School of Art and Design building (MK) starts at 3pm, with the main auction itself beginning at 5.30pm.
