Students still satisfied

The sixth annual National Student Survey (NSS 2010) reveals 84% of students are happy with the learning resources available, compared to a national average of 80%.

Overall satisfaction has remained high at the University, with 78% of students responding that they are satisfied for the second year running.

Jane Nelson, Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Affairs, said: “The University is pleased to have maintained improved satisfaction levels. Improving the overall student experience remains a key investment priority even in these uncertain financial times.

“We have just completed a £700,000 installation of new IT resources to ensure that the quality of our learning resources remains amongst the best in the country.”

Students’ Union President Ken Harris said: “The University continues to hold the opinions of its students in high regard and works closely with the Students’ Union to ensure the needs of today’s students are met. We are pleased the NSS recognises the high standard of teaching and learning resources at the University, as these are extremely important to the student body.”

The NSS is a census of students in the final year of a course leading to undergraduate credits or qualifications across the UK.
