Entry requirements for students from Latvia

International Foundation Year

Atestāts par vispārējo vidējo izglītību - Certificate of General Secondary Education

Students with a score of  less than 8 are eligible for the International Foundation Year

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components is also required


Atestāts par vispārējo vidējo izglītību (Certificate of General Secondary Education) with a minimum overall grade of 6.


Bakalaura Diploms or Profesionālā Bakalaura Diploms completed after 2002

Students who have completed a Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institutions can normally be considered for admission onto a Master’s degree.

A score of 7 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1

A score of 6 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

A score of less than 6 is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion a pre-masters course.

English Language Requirements

English language requirements vary by course and department but the standard University requirement is 6.0 with 5.5 in every component in IELTS or the same scores in the University's own entry test, the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE).

Some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University standard requirements. For details of each programme's English language requirement please see the individual course pages.

Achieve 85% at B2 level or above for English language within the Secondary School Leaving Certificate, (6.0 equivalent)

70-84% for International Foundation Year.
