If you’re a Brunei student looking to study at our University, here you will find important information about entry requirements.

Our international students join a University community of staff and students based in our three campuses, including City Campus in Wolverhampton.

Whatever your subject, whatever your course, we’ll meet your needs. Outside the classroom, you can make friends with common interests through the Students’ Union, unwind by joining the Mindspace Society and experience the city’s diverse entertainment options, from football to theatre.

Entry requirements for students from Brunei

International Foundation Year

The Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level is comparable in terms of equivalence to UK GCSEs where grades 1-6 have been achieved. 1 being the highest score.

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components is also required

Students with English language with a minimum of grade 2 are exempt from English language requirements.

Undergraduate

The Brunei-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A levels) is comparable in terms of grading and equivalence to UK A-levels.

 

Students holding a BDTVEC National Diploma with a minimum score of 50% are eligible for entrance to a Bachelor programme.

Students holding a BDTVEC Higher National Diploma with a minimum score of 50% can be considered for entrance to the final year of a Bachelor programme.

Postgraduate

Students who have completed a Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution can normally be accepted for entrance to master’s degrees.

 

A GPA of 3.5/5.00 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1

A GPA of 2.7/5.00 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

GPAs below 2.7 are considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course

English Language Requirements

English language requirements vary by course and department but the standard University requirement is 6.0 with 5.5 in every component in IELTS or the same scores in the University’s own entry test, the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE).

Some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University standard requirements.  For details of each programme’s English language requirement please see the individual course pages.
