Open research is having a huge impact on the way that research is done and published across the world, with new ways of working and platforms for sharing research emerging at a rapid pace. It can be hard to keep up with all the new initiatives.

In the past few years, preprint servers, data repositories, and funder platforms like Octopus and European Science Cloud, have increased in importance to accompany and enhance the traditional processes for disseminating research with quick and easy access to more elements of research projects than ever before.

To keep you up to date, we will be posting on a monthly basis on some of the hot topics of how research can be made open. This will include exploration of concepts like pre-registration of studies or FAIR use of data, news on open research events, initiatives and facilities, and highlighting of best practice and research projects within the university, from a range of authors. If you would like to contribute to the blog, please get in touch with the Scholarly Communications team via wire@wlv.ac.uk.

You can also contact the Scholarly Communications team to discuss support on open access, research data management and related open research issues.
