What is Artsmark?

The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England: aiming to develop and celebrate the schools and settings' commitment to arts and cultural education.

Artsmark is awarded at three levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum. You are measured on the quality of your provision, the pedagogy and the impact it has on young people.

Am I eligible for Artsmark?

Artsmark is open to primary, secondary and specials schools. As well as pupil referral units, youth offending teams and sixth form colleges.

Artsmark is an Arts Council England programme, therefore only settings in England are eligible to register currently.

How can the Arena Theatre help with Artsmark?

The Arena Theatre is a registered Artsmark Partner, and we are more than happy to provide support on your Artsmark journey.

The Arena Theatre offers the following to assist with Artsmark accreditation:

  • One-off workshops for staff and pupils
  • Offers on performances for schools and education settings
  • Knowledge of the arts and cultural landscape across Wolverhampton
  • Work experience opportunities
  • Knowledge of the Creative Industries, and careers talks on this subject

Above all else, we are keen to work in long-term, collaborative partnerships with education settings: a long-lasting two-way relationship is our aim to provide and increase opportunities for young people across Wolverhampton and the West Midlands.
