Athlete Scholarship

The University of Wolverhampton Sport Scholarship Programme offers performance packages for elite athletes, aspiring coaches, match officials and leaders.

 The University of Wolverhampton awards a number of scholarships to individual student-athletes who demonstrate aspirations to compete to the highest level within their sport. Our three Athlete Scholarship packages provide the student athletes with a dedicated performance team who work holistically to provide them with a well rounded performance services programme. 

Athlete Scholar Packages and Criteria

Currently representing your chosen sport at County/regional, at senior or junior level (for example, Northwest)

Bronze Support Services

  • Financial award - £500
  • WLV Gym Membership
  • BUCS Membership
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sport Psychology
  • Performance Lifestyle Support
  • Workshops
  • Teamwear Kit

Currently representing your chosen sport on a national basis (for example, with Great Britain or England), at either senior or junior level.

Silver Support Services

  • Financial award - £1000
  • WLV Gym Membership
  • BUCS Membership
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sport Psychology
  • Performance Lifestyle Support
  • Workshops
  • Teamwear Kit

Currently representing your chosen sport on an international basis (for example, with Great Britain or England), at either senior or junior level.

Gold Support Services

  • Financial award - £1500
  • WLV Gym Membership
  • BUCS Membership
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sport Psychology
  • Performance Lifestyle Support
  • Workshops

WLV Sport Scholarships are awarded on a case by case basis with priority given to individual’s whose sport features within the British University and Colleges Sport programme, regional or national competition and the potential for elite/international level performance.

To be eligible for a sport scholarship:

  • Compete at a regional, national or international standard in your sport 
  • Be enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at University of Wolverhampton

The Scholarship Scheme is reviewed annually although the Panel reserves the right to make changes and / or amendments at any time. The Panel also reserves the right to withdraw a Scholarship offer at any time.
