Secure a fantastic future – now more than everUniversity of Wolverhampton students

The University is extremely proud to share some great news about our most recent review by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). We have received a commendation, the highest possible accolade for 'the enhancement of student learning opportunities'.

‌What is the QAA?‌‌

The QAA could be considered the university equivalent of Ofsted. It is essential that universities meet the agency's expectations against many different criteria but only a select few universities receive commendations. In fact we were the first university in the region to receive a commendation - so even more reason to take pride in this terrific achievement.

Putting our students first

You’re probably wondering what this all means, and how will this help you. In short, it means that you can expect the highest standards from us to ensure you leave the University of Wolverhampton as a well-rounded and highly employable graduate. We pride ourselves in raising the aspirations of our students. Not only encouraging you to believe you can access higher education, but that you can be successful in your studies at Wolverhampton – and beyond.

World leading research

The university also received some great news with the publication of the most recent 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). The REF is the new system for assessing the quality of research in higher education institutions. All 13 of the research areas that were assessed had elements of research rated as 'world leading'. We would like to thank our researchers in areas ranging from brain tumour research to engineering for this recognition.

Making a concrete commitmentNew Business School (artists impression)

We don’t just instill belief; we invest heavily in developing innovative teaching and learning methods and state-of-the-art facilities to ensure that belief turns into graduate success.

May 2015 saw the announcement of an unprecedented investment.

The 'Our Vision - Your Opportunity' project will see £250 million invested over the next 5 years to boost job prospects for our graduates by driving economic growth across the Black Country.

There has never been a more exciting time to be a student at the University of Wolverhampton.
