Volunteering

Are you interested in volunteering in sport? Then this is the page for you. Every year over 5.6 million who volunteer regularly do so in sport and physical activity and you don't have to be a sports student or play sport to get involved. Volunteering can be one of the most rewarding experiences you have - as well as helping people of all ages to be more active and healthy you could be supporting tomorrows sporting champions.

Why should I volunteer in sport?

Volunteering in sport allows you to:

  • Learn new skills and develop existing employability skills such as communication, teamwork, decision making and leadership
  • Build your CV and increase your employability
  • Stand out from the crowd by showing potential employers commitment, experience and community spirit
  • Network and make connections in the industry

The WLV Uni Sports Awards:

Each year at our annual Sports awards evening those volunteers achieving their Volunteer Excellence award are presented with their certificates and the winner of the Sports Volunteer of the Year is presented with their award, This year (2018/19) we are pleased to announce that Amar Ahktar-Jeram (Sports Coaching - Football) won due to his commitment to the WLV Sport Football First Team who played in their inaugural season in the Total Motion League.
