NGB HE Opportunities (University based)

WLV Sport have various opportunities available to volunteer with the sports centre at our Walsall and City campus venues.

One of our main volunteer opportunities is an Activator/Officer/Ambassador role linked with various National Governing Bodies (NGB).

These NGB roles will vary slightly, but are designed to encourage maximum participation in a specific sport. The volunteer is then expected to develop close links with the respective sport and help to promote the weekly sessions amongst the student through various avenues.

The expectance of the candidate is to commit 2-3 hours per week and also attend NGB training days in exchange for their support. The NGB often provides further reward by offering access to coaching/leadership awards at a reduced or sometimes free rate.

These roles are a great opportunity for a student to enhance their CV, especially if they are looking to work, although not exclusively, in the sport industry once they complete their studies.

Currently NGB officer roles are offered in:

  • Badminton
  • Volleyball
  • Touch Rugby
  • Female Football (female only)
  • Netball
  • Tennis
  • Basketball
