Undergraduate CPD Courses

We offer a range of undergraduate (UG) courses designed to meet the career aspirations and clinical or professional development needs of individuals who work in the healthcare sector. Many healthcare professionals now qualify with a degree and therefore choose to undertake further studies as postgraduate (see postgraduate courses page). However there are still a significant number of healthcare professionals who qualified at diploma level or who have overseas qualifications equivalent to a diploma of higher education who wish to achieve a degree relevant to their practice. For those students we offer a number of undergraduate courses that facilitate progression to a degree qualification.

Our Courses:

Return to Practice - We have two courses that enable spreviously registered practitioners, who have been out of practice, to fulfil current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements and return to the appropriate part of the register, ready to enter clinical practice as a safe and competent practitioner. Click here to view the latest information and updates for both courses.

Return to Practice Courses:

A selection of modules from our undergraduate courses can be taken as stand-alone modules to meet your specific professional development needs (see full list below)

Academic levels are based on our understanding of education and the progression of learning, and we measure this by the assessment of increasing depths of knowledge, skills and abilities at different levels.

  • 120 Level 4 credits (certificate) - equivalent  year 1 of a full time 3 year undergraduate degree course
  • 120 Level 5 credits (diploma) - equivalent to year 2 of a full time 3 year undergraduate degree course
  • 120 Level 6 credits (degree) - equivalent to year 3 of a full time 3 year undergraduate degree course

A typical journey* would include progression of studies from level 4 to level 5 to level 6 accumulating 120 academic credits at each level. Thus a full BSc (Honours) degree comprises of 360 credits in total.

*For individuals whose journey did not include this progression, we are able to offer a Graduate Certificate (see below) which allows continued development of professional learning and practice at an equivalent level.
