University Podiatry Clinic – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Your treatment will be carried out by podiatry students from the University of Wolverhampton under the supervision of qualified and experienced HCPC-registered podiatrists.
We can assess and manage a wide range of foot and lower limb issues, including corns and calluses, thickened or ingrown toenails, fungal infections, foot pain and biomechanical issues, and foot health advice.
Many of our clinics are low-cost or free, depending on the type of appointment. Any fees are used to support clinical teaching and the running of the clinic. You’ll be informed of any costs before your appointment.
Please allow up to 60 minutes for your first visit. This allows students adequate time for assessment, treatment, and supervision from the clinical educators.
Please bring a list of your current medications, any relevant medical letters or test results, comfortable footwear, and reading glasses or hearing aids if you use them.
No. Our clinic is a teaching environment, and student involvement is essential for their learning. All students are closely supervised, and your safety is our top priority. If you have concerns about your care, please discuss them with the supervising podiatrist.
Yes. All patient information is handled in line with professional confidentiality standards and the Data Protection Act (UK GDPR). Your details will only be used for clinical and educational purposes.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to your lower legs and feet.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a friend, carer, or family member if it helps you feel comfortable or if you require assistance.
Please contact the clinic as soon as possible if you’re unable to attend. This allows us to offer your slot to another patient and supports students in meeting their learning requirements.
Yes, parking is available on campus.
Parking Information for Your Clinic Visit:
You can park in the assisted parking bays on the Sister Dora car park when you visit the clinic. If you have a valid Blue Badge, you can also use one of the disabled parking bays in the same area.
The car park is accessed from Gorway Road.
