R49:- Trustworthiness in Qualitative Research: Applied Techniques

Trustworthiness in Qualitative Research: Applied Techniques content:

Qualitative research openly acknowledges a subjective researcher-informant relationship. This can lead to criticisms of researcher bias and negative perceptions regarding the legitimacy of qualitatively derived conclusions. This session demonstrates the application of techniques built into the design of a qualitative study, against which the trustworthiness of the research can be judged. Applied techniques are discussed under the headings of credibility, dependability, confirmability and transferability; alternative criteria commonly referred to in the literature to represent trustworthiness in qualitative research.

Facilitator:- Professor Michael Jopling, Professor in Education and Director of the Education Observatory.
