The objective of the Cluster is to contribute to the theory and practice in relation to small business management and entrepreneurial venturing.
The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Research (ESBM) is headed by Prof Yong Wang, Dr Ade Oriade and Dr Samia Mahmood. The ESBM Cluster reflects and acknowledges the importance of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) as agents of innovation, wealth-creation and employment. The cluster acts as a vehicle to promote debate and development of its members and the public, and contribute to the society through various activities including research dissemination, workshops and training.
Key Areas
The main aim of the Cluster is to promote entrepreneurship and small business research and to build a bridge between the university and businesses to foster and develop entrepreneurial and innovative activities for regional and international firms. To achieve this aim we:
- Offer a platform that brings together colleagues working in related and similar areas of research.
- Promote among members ethos of responsible research that support innovations and development.
- Engage with wider research and business communities in conducting multi-disciplinary research that provide solutions to societal issues.
- Provide support for members in view of optimising potential and capacity.
- Attract research funding through collaborative activities with relevant stakeholders.
