Research in Education, Leadership and Social Justice

The research in this hub aims to engage in disrupting popular discourses with a specific focus on inclusive agendas. Our work is rooted in social justice and cuts across the education system both within the global north and globalised south.

About this hub

The current research in education leadership and social justice engages in co-creation and ensuring voices and lived experiences are central to the critical debates. These debates are in education, leadership and change.

CREST’s work in this area seeks to engage with and benefit local communities and society in order to tackle disadvantage and bring about lasting change.

Our research addresses key questions surrounding inequality and we are particularly passionate about illuminating experiences of under represented groups in society.

We welcome opportunities for collaboration.

2023 Leadership Conference: Leading Change in Challenging Times

This event took place on 23 May 2023. Our theme this year reflected the challenges all leaders in education faced post-lockdown. We aimed to explore how these challenges led to greater opportunities to promote learning and provide others with life-chances. Great challenges often present us with great opportunities to do things differently, and to lead change during challenging times. It can be a very creative process.
