The Research Centre for Sport, Exercise and Performance (RCSEP) was established in 2005. There are 25 academic members of staff, a post-doctoral research fellow, and an Associate Dean. Research is focused on a number of academic disciplines, for example, Biomechanics, Physiology, Psychology, and Sociology. Research is focused on a number of different areas of application including the antecedents, consequences and correlates of behaviour, health, and wellbeing. RCSEP are committed to maintain originality, significance and rigour in research within a framework of the highest standards of infrastructure, training, and integrity. RCSEP are also committed to support research that addresses fundamental questions of real significance and applied questions with potential to change the world. RCSEP conducts research aligned to the goals of the Institute of Sport which include supporting high performing student athletes, raising student performance in university competition, and increasing physical activity in our population.
