This conference, organised by the British Commission for Military History (BCMH) in association with the Department of History, Politics and War Studies, University of Wolverhampton, intends to highlight current research being undertaken by postgraduate and early career scholars in the field of military history and related disciplines
This is the British Commission for Military History’s fifth annual New Research conference giving postgraduate and early career scholars an excellent opportunity to meet, share new ideas and discuss the latest research. The conference will be an all-day event, and will present a choice of at least twenty papers by postgraduate and early career historians. It will conclude with a keynote address by John Buckley, (Professor of Military History at the University of Wolverhampton and winner of the Templer Medal for 2013 for his book Monty’s Men: The British Army and the Liberation of Europe.

Envelopes should be marked “New Research Conference”. Cheques should be made payable to “University of Wolverhampton”.
Costs for the day for delegates are £25 for non-members of the BCMH, £20 for members of the BCMH, and £15 for all those giving papers. In addition, a buffet lunch will be available (at a nearby hostelry) for an additional cost of £7.50. (So, e.g. the cost for a non-BCMH member wanting lunch will be £32.50 in total). Those wanting lunch must reserve their places and pay in full before Friday 14 November.

The conference will be held in the Millennium City (MC) Building of the City campus south at the University of Wolverhampton, a short walk from Wolverhampton’s bus and train stations.
