The University of Wolverhampton is celebrating the success of Samantha Elliott, a BSc Architecture student, who has been named a regional winner at the prestigious Women in Property Midlands Student Awards 2025.

Samantha impressed the judging panel with her deep understanding of the built environment and the challenges facing the sector. Judges described her as “very professional, engaging and thoughtful,” and praised her “breadth of knowledge and inspiring perspective at such a young age.”

The awards, now in their 19th year, are designed to spotlight the most promising female students in property and construction-related disciplines. Open to second-year students across a wide range of built environment courses, the awards are independently administered and judged by a panel of industry professionals. Candidates are assessed not on academic performance alone, but on their personal skills, professional potential, and industry insight.

Samantha was one of three students selected to represent the Midlands region, alongside peers from the University of Warwick and Birmingham City University. She will now go on to compete in the national final in London on Thursday 18 September, culminating in the Best of the Best Dinner at Claridge’s, where the overall winner will be announced.

Samantha Elliott, BSc Architecture Student said, “I’m incredibly honoured to have been selected as one of the regional winners, going on to represent the midlands at the national final.

The experience has helped improve my confidence and presentation skills. It has provided me with a real insight into opportunities within the built environment and the architectural world.

I’m grateful to my lecturers and friends at the University of Wolverhampton for their support and guidance throughout the last two years. I am looking forward to representing the Midlands and the University of Wolverhampton at the national final.”

Karis Cochrane Lecturer Architecture, University of Wolverhampton, added, “Samantha’s achievement is a testament to her talent, professionalism, and passion for architecture. We are incredibly proud of her and delighted to see her represent the University on a national stage.”

The Women in Property Student Awards are supported nationally by Amazon and Savills, and regionally by SEGRO and Willmott Dixon, with the aim of promoting gender diversity and addressing skills gaps in the built environment sector.
