Hollywood star Nathalie Emmanuel joins University alumnus to celebrate TNB Connect milestone

The University of Wolverhampton proudly welcomed Hollywood actress Nathalie Emmanuel to campus as part of a special celebration marking the five-year anniversary of TNB Connect, a community-led organisation founded by alumnus Nate Ethan Watson.
Nate, who graduated in 2019 with a BSc (Hons) in Public Health, established TNB Connect to support and raise awareness for the trans and non-binary community. The event, held at the University’s Students’ Union, reflected on the organisation’s journey, challenges, and achievements, while offering a powerful platform for community engagement and visibility.
A long-time friend of Nate’s and a passionate advocate for TNB Connect, Nathalie Emmanuel - best known for her roles in Fast & Furious and Game of Thrones - joined the celebration as a special guest and ambassador for the organisation. She spent the afternoon engaging with guests, sharing her personal and professional experiences, and participating in an open Q&A session, followed by a meet-and-greet.
As a proud graduate, Nate chose to mark this milestone at the University, underscoring his enduring connection with the institution. Since graduating, he has remained an active supporter, most recently featuring in the University’s Every Story Has a Start alumni campaign - even appearing on the side of a tram in Birmingham.
“We were honoured to host Nate and Nathalie on campus,” said David Wedge, Head of Alumni & Development. “We’re committed to celebrating our alumni and the meaningful work they do beyond graduation.”
