Callum MacPherson scored a winning career move when he studied for a Marketing Management degree at the University of Wolverhampton.

Callum, 22, from Pendeford in Wolverhampton, passed his A Levels in Business, Geography and Physics at Codsall High School but wasn't sure what type of career he wanted to pursue.

He decided to do a four year degree course, incorporating a sandwich placement year to gain some work experience where he worked at Wolves as a Marketing Assistant.

He said: "I didn't really know what kind of career I wanted to go into but studying on a course where you can take a year out really helps to focus you better.

"When I was working at Wolves I really got interested in the public relations side of things and it was great that I learned a lot about writing on my course.

"My advice to students now would be to get work experience under your belt as it really does set you apart."

Callum's lecturer put him in touch with marketing and PR agency, 8848, based in Coven, Staffordshire where he did some work experience days.  The agency has now offered him a full-time job as a Junior Account Executive where he is writing press releases for multiple clients as well as doing some social media.

Callum graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Marketing Management
