Boss of Bentley Motors to present guest lecture

The boss of Bentley Motors is to present an annual business lecture at the University of Wolverhampton.

Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bentley Motors and a graduate of the University, will present the Crystal Lecture on Tuesday, 26 November 2019.

The sold out annual lecture is organised in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

This year’s event is titled ‘transforming the mindset and culture of a 100-year-old successful company to meet the challenges of a digital, decarbonised future’.

The 26th annual Crystal Lecture will start at 6pm with refreshments in the University’s Lord Swraj Paul Building Forum café, with the lecture in the Mary Seacole Building.

Adrian Hallmark joined Bentley Motors in February 2018 as Chairman and CEO. Prior to this, Hallmark, 56, was Global Strategy Director at Jaguar Land Rover. He has 18 years automotive board-level experience from the US, Europe and Asia with Porsche, Volkswagen SAAB and Bentley Motors.

During his first term at Bentley he held the role of Board Member for Sales, Marketing and PR and played an integral role in the introduction of the sector-defining Continental GT in 2003.

Hallmark studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wolverhampton and has a Management Diploma.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Engineering by the University in September 2018 in recognition of his achievements and contribution to manufacturing and engineering during the course of his career.

Professor Clare Schofield, Director of the University of Wolverhampton Business School, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Adrian Hallmark back to the University of Wolverhampton to deliver our annual Crystal Lecture. The lecture promises to be a fascinating insight into the challenges facing a 100 year old successful company in modern times.”

The event will include the presentation of the CMI Rosebowl Award to the University of Wolverhampton MBA student who has produced the best postgraduate dissertation.
