The University of Wolverhampton is hosting a forum dedicated to the construction industry - building on its links with the sector.

The Construction Futures Forum – Excellence in Industry will be held at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton on Tuesday 11th February 2020 from1.00 pm until 5.30 pm.

The event is designed for professionals with an interest in the future of construction and includes prominent guest speakers who will talk on themes affecting the UK construction industry on the economy.

Professor Mohammed Arif, Head of the School of Construction and the Built Environment at the University, said:  “Our aim through this forum is to facilitate discussions on current and future topics in the UK construction industry as well as to exchange knowledge, expertise and practice in the sector.

“The University is committed to forging stronger links between industry and academia around future research and training needs in construction.

“Implementation of Industry 4.0 has resulted in significant challenges for the construction sector. In this era of the Internet of Things a significant shift in paradigm is needed for construction. A complete rethink is needed on how the construction sector does its business. When industry 4.0 is still a work in process, industry 5.0 has started knocking on our doors.

“We are facing a new kind of consumer, and the practices within the sector need to change to adapt to this new way of doing business.”

Keynote speakers at the event include Mark Farmer, author of Farmer’s Review and the Chief Executive Officer of Cast Real Estate and Construction. Conference fees are £90 which includes lunch.  Delegates should book a place here.
