Students urged to pitch great ideas

16/03/2017

Entrepreneurial students at the University of Wolverhampton are being encouraged to pitch their business ideas for the chance to take part in a national competition.

‌The Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 aim to give student and graduate business ventures a financial boost in their early stages.

As a partner university of Santander, University of Wolverhampton students and graduates from up to five years ago are eligible to apply with the chance to win up to £25,000 and receive mentoring support.

Entrants have until Friday, 24 March 2017 to express an interest in taking part, with the final decision on who will represent the University due at the end of April.

Sarah Taylor, Head of Careers and Enterprise, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for students and graduates with a business idea or who are already running an innovative start-up to enter a national competition to receive financial support and mentoring.

“Successful entrants will have the chance to pitch their ideas to a prestigious panel at the University and if successful, to be put forward to the next stage of the national competition.

“We’re proud to work closely with Santander, and are really looking forward to seeing the innovative business pitches of our students and graduates.”

Students and graduates need to email an expression of interest to Enterprise@wlv.ac.uk by the deadline of Friday 24 March 2017.
